Simr can be tailored to a multi-dimensional program. It can be developed as a stand-alone capstone course in strategic management or used as a component module for individual courses. The program can be as long as twelve (12) weeks, encompassing an entire semester or as short as four (4) weeks as a component of a more focused or more general course.


As a component of a Food & Beverage Cost Control Course, Service Management, Revenue Management or Financial Management/Accounting Course the simulation can assist in the teaching of:

  • Menu Management – selection; costing; pricing; portion control
  • Labour Scheduling and Implementation
  • Marketing and Sales applications
  • Revenue Management applications through menu engineering
  • Financial integration and evaluation through analysis of simulation generated financial statements; Balance Sheets; Income Statements and Cash Flow statements
  • Cost –Volume-Profit and break even analysis
